HEALING
through
MOVEMENT
Before I found yoga, I always identified myself as an athlete. I grew up playing hockey, softball, basketball, golf, and lacrosse. The health and wellness industry has always interested me - I knew I loved working out, and I knew I enjoyed helping others. When I declared my major in nutrition and dietetics, I didn't realize how far it would lead me down a natural and functional path in healthcare, and in life.

As someone who has loved running races, and participating in biking events, yoga humbled me and made me catch my own breath. I always thought I had to be working out every day of the week, pushing myself to exhaustion, and not giving myself a day off. Even on the days that I would take a hot yoga class, I would still find myself hitting the gym before it. After consistently doing yoga for a few years, I realized I wasn't going for the work out anymore, I was going for the message of the class and the healing that yoga offered. I knew something kept pulling me back in to the classes, and I couldn't quite understand why.

Yoga offered the healing I didn't know I needed. I knew that Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) was what I wanted to do next. I completed my Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200 hour training at the outstanding TriBalance Studio in Schaumburg, IL. Using my RYT certification, I have found ways to offer the same healing that I once searched for, to the community. Some of my experiences include:
-
Kids yoga at Whole Foods in Little Rock, AR
-
Cardiac rehab yoga at Strong Hearts Cardiac Rehab in Little Rock, AR
-
Adult yoga flow at Anytime Fitness in Bryant, AR and North Little Rock, AR
-
Teen and adult yoga flow at the Elk Grove Park District in Elk Grove Village, IL
